Varna draws on the experience of Plovdiv and Kapana Creative District to transform its historical and cultural center – Talyana quarter – by stimulating discussion and the exchange of knowledge and skills for the development of art quarters among interested creative circles from the cities – Candidates in the European Capital of Culture initiative.
The participation of representatives from the Sofia quARTer and Veliko Tarnovo, place the discussions at a national level.
The activities include conducting a sociological survey of the local community, related to the development of the Talyana quarter; organizing a forum for discussion of the challenges facing the development of art quarters in the country (Yunashki salon, Varna, May 2019); presentation of the project in Plovdiv and the twinning ceremony of Kapana and Talyana (April 2019, Plovdiv); collection and digitization of historical photographs from the quarter of Talyana; developing a development strategy for Talyana as an art quarter.
