OPEN CALL FOR SMALL PROJECTS

Foundation “Plovdiv 2019” invites Bulgarian and foreign organizations to become a part of European Capital of Culture’s programme.

This new open call will provide financing for a variety of artistic activities bringing art directly to the people and town communities. The main focus will be the programme’s three flagship projects – the Cyrillic alphabet as a unique Bulgarian contribution to the European culture; work with different communities in the neighborhood /Mahala platform/; different actions and interventions around the Maritsa River and Adata island. Applicants can submit projects outside the scope of the three flagships but they must also meet the main goals, criteria, and priorities of our preliminary programme.

After the Chitalishta Open Call, announced at the end of last year, this time the opportunity to realize their ideas within the initiative’s framework is given not only to a broader range of organizations but also to independent artists and curators.

The Open call for small projects has a total budget of BGN 400 000 and is made with simplified conditions. The distribution of the financial grant is as follows: a maximum of BGN 10 000 per project with a minimum of 30% own contribution by the applicant /it may be non-financial/.

The deadline for submitting applications is 6th of April 2018. During the two-month duration of the open call information meeting to help the applicants with the application process will be held. All approved projects will be able to start their work from September 2018 and continue throughout 2019 as part of the official programme of Plovdiv – European Capital of Culture.
